Power resides in this moment 🌀🤍

How can you use this knowledge to heal from a broken heart? 💔 I worked with a client this week who arrived with this tenderness in their heart, and I shared this wisdom with them, acknowledging also that healing from heartbreak is best nurtured holistically. My share is only part of the process. 🍃

Living solely in the past, dwelling on bad memories, can be a distressing experience. The more we immerse ourselves in those memories, the more our mood worsens, and we lose sight of the goodness and potential for positivity around us.

Interestingly, the same is true when we try to live exclusively in positive memories. This can lead us to resist the present moment, resulting in similar negative effects. Also, bypassing or avoiding what feels uncomfortable can create more dis-ease in the body.

Conversely, fixating solely on the present can also be unproductive, especially if our awareness is too narrow. So, what to do?!!! 🫣

My recommendation is do your best to live ‘mostly’ in the present and have compassion for yourself when your thoughts slip to the past or project to the future.

Become mindful that in Hawaiian culture, all time is present time. Everything that happens is relative to the present moment, either finished, happening or unfinished.

With this in mind, when you do place your awareness in the present, embrace it fully with all your senses - sight, sound, touch, action, taste and response. This not only supports you to be in this moment but it also allows a more expansive view of the present moment. When you are fully present this way, the past begins to loosen its grip, and your heart may begin to heal. Slowly, slowly 🌺 xo

Happy Lovers Day, lovers. ❤️

It’s the original album cover art for Lindsay Buckingham & Stevie Nicks' album "Buckingham Nicks", 1973 📸 Jimmy Wachtel.

The album tanked and around this time these two could barely make ends meet, but they were hanging in there, relentlessly pursing what they loved. Not long after this Mick Fleetwood had been particularly taken by Buckingham’s guitar and vocals, that he’d heard at Sound City Studios in LA.

On New Years Eve 1974, Mick invited Buckingham to join Fleetwood Mac as their (7th!) guitarist. This gave Buckingham some leverage, which he used to arrange for a package deal with his girlfriend, Stevie Nicks. The rest as they say, is history.

Love takes on so many shapes, forms and flavours resulting in a co-creation of magic, but nobody knows the depths of that magic more than the artists themselves.

Their road together was not exactly an easy one, but thank God for Lindsay & Stevie’s unique, oceanic and wild flavour combined with the rest of the band, because imagine life without ‘Rumours’ and what followed?! 😲🤭😂😍

Lovers ~ here’s to celebrating and honouring the highs, the lows, all of the flavours, fire, tenderness, your devotion, nuances, oceans of depth and the uniqueness of your special love and co-creation. ❤️ x

I am always in awe of, and humbled by, the transformation that appears on people’s faces, as they receive Lomilomi.

Ageing is beautiful and every stage is to be honoured, I am not discounting this. Just noticing how years do fall away before my eyes. A softness emerges. A glow and radiance appears that is much, much more than skin deep. 🙏🏻✨

Rarely does a person leave a session looking the same as when they walked in. 🌺 I am never surprised, as this is so common, but I am always humbled. Such precious work. 🐚🍃

Touch feels different when your giver of bodywork

Touch feels different when your giver of bodywork & massage is embodied. This can feel like something you’ve never experienced before, because you probably haven’t!

Being deeply connected & attuned to themselves, and therefore YOU on their table, is the fundamental difference between an ok session and an exceptional one.

And some people share a transmission of touch that can’t ever be taught, it’s a part of them and is as unique as their fingerprint, straight from their heart.
